First-Gen Zone Conference
A conversation with Matika Wilbur
We are honored to welcome Matika Wilbur as our keynote speaker, a renowned chronicler of the human experience. An Indigenous social documentarian from the Swinomish and Tulalip peoples, Matika’s work centers on Indigeneity through photography, film, audio journalism, and public presentations. Her 2023 book Project 562: Changing the Way We See Native America became a New York Times bestseller and was longlisted for the Andrew Carnegie Medal. She also hosts the acclaimed podcast All My Relations and is the CEO of Tidelands, a Seattle art center that amplifies Indigenous voices and supports Native artists.
